Berlin is the most international city in Germany. It attracts creative, open-minded people from all over the world. Berlin is constantly changing, evolving and transforming — and people living in Berlin are part of that. The project “The World in Berlin” portrays people living in Berlin with their experiences, coming from different countries and backgrounds and shaping the face of the city. With our project, we want to celebrate the thriving creativity and diversity of this multi-faceted city.
10 photographers, more than 1 year of work and over 80 countries portrayed! It is time to show you how far we already got. This “In Progress” exhibition displays a selection of people already portrayed for our project, including guests and staff from KAFFEEMITTE, whom we portrayed in two action days at the café.
There are 193 sovereign states that are members of the United Nations (UN). Two other countries, the Holy See and the State of Palestine, have observer status at the UN and there are some more complicated cases. Many (all?) of them are present in Berlin, which is one of the most international cities in Europe. In our project “The World in Berlin”, we portray people from as many different countries as we can.
